Parent & Student Agreement

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before enrolment.

1. Enrolment & Fees

Upon enrolment, a one-off, non-refundable enrolment fee of $55 applies to all new students. Payment must be made to secure enrolment. Fees are subject to change with 30 days' written notice. Any changes will take effect at the commencement of the next term.

2. Student Expectations, Attendance & Commitment

Attendance & Class Changes: Students are expected to attend all enrolled classes at the scheduled time and day. Class changes are not permitted after the second week of the term, except where approved by management in exceptional circumstances.

Commitment & Homework: Students must come prepared with all books and necessary stationery. We reserve the right to cancel a student’s enrolment if homework is not submitted for three or more weeks within a term, or if work consistently falls below the standard communicated by the teacher (a single written warning will be provided prior to cancellation).

Illness: For illness-related absences with prior notification, a single lesson credit may be applied to the following term's fees. One absence per term is permitted without a medical certificate; any additional illness absences require a valid medical certificate to be eligible for credit.

Planned Absences & Cancellations: A 2-week notice is required for any planned absence or cancellation of enrolment. Temporary "pauses" in enrolment are subject to management approval and a minimum period of one term. No fees are charged during the pause period, and enrolment will resume automatically at the conclusion of the pause unless otherwise notified.

Disenrolment Risk: Students who miss three or more classes within a term without prior notification (SMS/email before class) may be disenrolled without refund for the remainder of the term.

3. Behaviour & Safety

Dress Code: Students must wear clean, appropriate attire. Clothing with offensive slogans or attire that poses a safety risk (e.g., open-toed shoes) is not permitted.

Mobile Phones: Phones must be switched off or on silent and are not permitted during class. For emergencies, contact the front desk at 91606244.

Disciplinary Action: Any student engaging in disruptive, abusive, threatening, or physically unsafe behavior may be asked to leave immediately. We reserve the right to cancel enrolment without refund for the remainder of the term if inappropriate behavior persists following a formal written warning.

4. Refund Policy & Results Guarantee

4.1. HSC Plus Results Guarantee

If a child completes our 10-week term and does not demonstrate measurable improvement, we will refund the entire term fee (excluding the enrolment fee).

  • Definition: Measurable improvement is defined as a higher percentage score on the final term assessment compared to the initial diagnostic assessment.
  • High-Achiever Exception: If a student scores 90% or higher on the initial diagnostic, improvement will be assessed by the Academic Head based on demonstrated skill mastery rather than percentage increase.
  • Conditions: The student must have attended all 10 lessons, completed all homework, and participated in both assessments.

4.2. General Refund Terms

  • Term Withdrawal: Once a term commences, fees are non-refundable except as provided under the Results Guarantee or at management's discretion.
  • Cancellations: A full refund of term fees (minus the enrolment fee) is available if requested in writing before the first lesson.
  • Tutor-Initiated Rescheduling: If HSC Plus reschedules a lesson and the student cannot attend the new time, a credit will be applied to the following term provided written notification is received before the rescheduled class. If notification is not received, the credit will be held on file at management's discretion.

5. Payments & Direct Debit

Arrears: If a payment remains unpaid 7 days after the due date, HSC Plus reserves the right to suspend the student from classes until the account is current. Suspension does not relieve the parent of liability for fees during the suspension period.

Fees: You accept liability for the following third-party processing fees:

  • $0.88 per transaction from bank accounts.
  • $0.88 + 1.87% MSF per transaction from credit cards.
  • $5.50 per dishonour (bank account or credit card).
  • $0.35 per debit reminder.

6. Resources & Intellectual Property

All resources are the intellectual property of HSC Plus. Students are granted a revocable license for personal use. Upon cancellation or withdrawal, physical resources already provided are retained by the student, but the license to use or reproduce the content is immediately revoked. Replacement of lost or damaged resources may incur a fee. Reproduction, digital sharing, or commercial distribution of these materials is strictly prohibited.

7. Privacy & Information

Personal details are kept confidential and used for administration, surveys, and safety. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.

8. Marketing Consent

HSC Plus may request school results and photos for promotional use. Use of such material is strictly opt-in. Parents/guardians must provide explicit, affirmative consent via the enrolment form, which can be withdrawn in writing at any time.

9. Medical Emergencies & Disclosure

Disclosure: Parents/guardians must disclose all known medical conditions, allergies (e.g., anaphylaxis), or health requirements at the time of enrolment.

Emergency Care: If a parent/guardian cannot be reached, staff are authorized to seek medical attention, including calling an ambulance. All associated costs are the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

10. Liability & Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HSC Plus excludes all liability for personal injury, or for loss, theft, or damage to personal property brought onto the premises. Parents/guardians agree to indemnify HSC Plus against any loss or claim arising from the student’s failure to comply with these terms or any negligent/wilful act by the student on the premises.

11. Force Majeure

If physical premises must close due to events beyond our control (e.g., pandemics, weather), lessons will be delivered via an online platform. Fees remain payable as the service is being provided in an alternate format; no refunds will be issued for the transition to online learning.

12. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

Disputes must be raised in writing. Management has 14 days to respond. If unresolved, parties agree to attempt mediation before legal proceedings. The costs of mediation shall be shared equally between the parties. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

13. Special Offers

Promotional offers have unique terms and cannot be combined with other discounts.

14. Declaration & Amendments

By enrolling, you declare all information is correct and agree to abide by the HSC Plus Academic Rules and Code of Conduct, available on our website. Material changes to these Terms will be communicated via email at least 14 days before taking effect.
